It was a waste of time going to House Clinic, over the phone i was told they were going to be able to help me but when it was not true. the Dr. stated that because cochlear implants mapping does pay enough the audiologist were refusing to see me and that i was better off going to my previous audiologist who at the moment is on medical leave and i dont know when he will be coming back. i told him the insurance had already approved for me to go there but he said he could not anything form me.

Dr. Luxford and his staff were outstanding from the moment I walked into the waiting room to the time that I was done with my visit. They took great care of me. The doctor listened to me. The doctor took care of my problem quickly, promptly. He listened to everything I had to say. I would recommend this doctor to anyone. And I am a patient for life now because He did something that no other doctor could. He was able to take care of my ear issue fast, quick, and with very little to no pain. I am forever in his deck.

Dr. Luxford saw me in a very timely manner. I called him on day one about the discharge from my ear and he saw me about two days later or one or two days later and he spent enough time and gave me the right prescription and I really appreciate his care.

It was terrible. I had to wait more than 1 1/2 hrs to get put in a room. I had to ask at the desk several times what was going on. The receptionist was trying to be apologetic, saying the doctor had been in surgery and was an hour late. There were people coughing in the waiting room and I felt exposed to germs so I asked for a mask. No one in reception initiated contact with me to tell me the dr was running very late. When I finally was put in a room, they moved me to a second room a few minutes later. After a short bit, a Fellow walked in. I said you're not the Dr I'm supposed to be seeing. He said he was the Fellow and would see me first. He checked my ears. He either said the dr would be in shortly or he asked me if I wanted to see the dr. I said I didn't need to see the dr; I'd been waiting too long and had to leave. While the dr didn't come in per my request, it would have been polite if he had come in to apologize. I've never had this type of experience at your clinic. I left thinking I don't want to come back given how I was treated. The Fellow said to come back in two years for my next check up so I have some time to think about it. It was a very disappointing and frustrating experience. The audiologist on the other hand was outstanding.

Dr. Luxford is the best! I hadn't seen him in more than 7 years, due to moving from OC to San Diego and then to Hawaii, and now back to Irvine, over the past 7+ years (whew!). I was so glad he was still in his practice, and I told him so. I have full faith in Dr. Luxford's knowledge, and abilities, and I'm glad to be back in his care for my tinnitus and asymmetrical hearing loss! We drove from Bakersfield. So, we ended up being an hour early. We had just planned to wait. Dr. Luxford decided to see us anyway and thoroughly examined my son and took the time to explain everything in detail and answer any questions we had.

Dr Luxford has always been knowledgeable, kind, professional and helpful with me ear issues. His staff is professional also. Reception desk experience was not as good. Holder of pens had note on it: "Clean Pens" however we put our pens back in holder afterward, and I witnessed others too and they were not cleaned. I was trying to use me own pen to write name but they were impatient and wanted me to step aside. Then reception desk was curt with me in asking me to move out of way as I pulled out my physical calendar to schedule next appt. Reception desk people seemed to " stick together@ and "have attitude"

The wait to see the provider was over an hour, even though I was told to come there half an hour early. You need to make the waiting times much shorter or give an accurate time to come in to see the provider.

Over the last several months I have had great trouble communicating with this office. I feel there has been unnecessary delay in insurance approvals and arriving at finally scheduling the cochlear implant surgery. Given the information I received about results of my CT Scan, I am not feeling great confidence in my decision to go ahead with the cochlear implant. I wish I had more communication about reasons the surgery is recommended.

It's really the only place to have my cochlear implant issues addressed. Not really any competition in this field. The insurance issues also different every time we come into the office. So with that being said it's okay, not great. Miss Dr (name removed). It was much more consistent care.

Materials provided were very helpful, Dr. Luxford I have trusted with care for many years. And the House new situation has finally seemed to settle into a routine after moving around so much. Problem though with calling to check on some pre-op instructions. Phone system rejected the 5-digit extensions I had. When I finally made it to a human in the system, they said they were connecting to me to (name removed)a (Luxford asst). I let it ring for several minutes but never got a message or chance to leave one. I finally gave up. I spent about 30 minutes trying to connect to various numbers in the system before giving up. I've never had the problem before.

Even though driving to Los Angeles was a bit far, it was well worth the drive. I will continue to see Dr. Luxford in Orange County on Tuesdays. He's a doctor I plan on keeping.

Dr Luxford as well as Dr that performed hearing test were exceptional. Without question the best doctors I've ever had examine me for Ménière's and other hearing issues. I would never consider an appointment with any other doctor for my hearing issues in the future ( and I've see several Dr in the past). It is hard to rate Dr. Luxford because he was very nice and he did talk to me and he answered questions that he did not once look in my ears to see if, you know, if there was anything else going on that the resident didn't see. And I came to see him, so that was very disappointing and why I didn't give higher remarks. He came highly recommended and I was hoping he would at least look inside my ears because I have a mild hearing loss, I'm told, and yet I can't hear anything, and I keep wanting to pop my ear. So, you know, I'm worried that, you know, there might be fluid in my ear. I mean, I was told, no, but sometimes you can't see it. Anyway, that's the reason. Okay, that's it. I just wish that he had at least looked in my ear, even if it was for a minute. But that didn't happen. Okay, that's it.

The appointment went very well. I got in there. They got me in. The doctor saw me very, very quickly. We have a great relationship. I appreciate everything he had to say. All we did, he answered all my questions. The only issue was when I left, he said, OK, make an appointment for this date or in that month. And when I went out, they said, oh, we're not doing that far in advance. So now I have to remember to call in in January to make an appointment in April. So that was just the only rub that was in it. I couldn't make an appointment, so I have to be burdened with remembering to make another appointment. That's all. So if you can somehow figure out how to make your calendar extend a little bit

As soon as he pulled wax out of my ear, I have on my right side, I have some pain and one of his associates called it an antibiotic and I would have hoped that the Dr. Luxford would have contacted me himself, but he has not.

And what I especially like about your hospital is you have really current equipment, very new equipment. And I really like that because I was having my ear blown out and that can be very painful. I expected a lot more from House Ear Institute. Dr. Luxford didn't even look at the audiologist report that we brought. Instead, he asked us "what did the report say?" And when we asked questions, he followed with more questions. Nothing was done. My husband and I are physicians and we know a lot of ENT. They all said that further work-ups should have been offered/done. We will be seeking 2nd opinion elsewhere.

One of the best doctors' appointments we've ever experienced. The doctor was waiting for us when we came back and explained things thoroughly. His expertise and kindness with our child put us at great ease for the upcoming surgery.

Very considerate and kind front desk, MD greeted me in the waiting room and shook hands, a rarity these days, listened attentively to my details of traumatic experiences and my condition, was very gently attending to an immediate issue, and will work with me to solve my problems as they arise. Yes, I made a mistake on the one prompt for Dr. Luxford. Dr. Luxford is outstanding. I didn't hear all the prompts in that first question. The only thing I would like to see improve was when we had to do a follow-up appointment, it took us about 15 minutes, 15 to 20 minutes before we could make that appointment. The wait time for seeing the doctor was over an hour. The waiting room was freezing cold and I was told the temperature was not adjustable.

Dr. Luxford and the back office staff were excellent!! I was wry impressed with them and appreciated their kindness and attentiveness. I was NOT impressed with the front office reception desk staff. I feel they were inattentive and almost rude by not making eye contact especially with hearing challenged patients at an ear clinic and they could be more friendly, helpful and h a happier attitude as if they really needed to be there. The women was ok, but the gentleman was more interested in his computer or what he was doing work than the people in front of him in my opinion. This was my experience, but it doesn't take away from Dr. Luxford and his nurse. I highly recommend them and that's who I am there to see so it was a positive regardless.
