Dr. Scherschun is a great doctor. She is so personable. It's like having a doctor's appointment with one of your best friend's. Her office is friendly and efficient too. Increasingly, these things are becoming more rare so I appreciate the doctor and her staff.

The Schurschun-Huerta team has got to be one of the best in the entire PIH group of physicians and nurses. Even though they are incredibly efficient, they are also especially caring and responsive-- always respectful of my "need to know," even in cases when no one can yet be sure of what's happening. I so appreciate that candor. As an academic in another field, I'm probably more curious than most other patients, but they always take the time to explain what they find and are also quick to reply to messages in the portal. As everything gets more automated and less human, I appreciate them more and more.

It took eight months to get an appointment. I have a history of melanoma and need to be seen every six months. This makes it very difficult to be seen for the doctors orders. Also, I could not get a follow up appointment as they will be transitioning to a new scheduling format. I was told I need to call every week until a 2027 schedule is available.

I was seen and cared for in a very timely manner. Dr is very thorough in her exam.

Dr. Scherschun was very good and I appreciated her very much. The man who took me into the office and had me put on a gown was not especially helpful or pleasant. But otherwise, I was very pleased with everything at the office. Goodbye.

Dr. Scherschun has been my dermatologist for several years now, and she is a very professional, compassionate, courteous and highly qualified medical professional. Not only that, but she is very gentle, and her procedures are not nearly as painful as with some of my previous dermatologists. I definitely would recommend Dr. Scherschun to anyone who needs a dermatologist.

PIH needs to hire more doctors so that new patients and existing patients can see their md's when they have a problem- not wait for their annual checkup. Primary md's seem to be replaced by urgent care. Dr Scherschun is the greatest and PIH is lucky to have her on their staff.

Dr. Schershun is excellent. (Name removed), not sure what his position is, was very cold and unwelcoming in person. I had a biopsy that turned out to be cancer. That is very stressful and concerning. (Name removed) called and left a message, I called him back the same day. He called back the next day and I called back the same day. He was angry and hostile with me. He said he had called me several times. I told him I had called him back both times. He asked if I left him a message on his extension. I told him I didn't have his extension. He said he left it on the message. I told him he didn't leave the extension. My cancer diagnosis was turning into a petty argument that I was trying to diffuse. He seemed to want to focus on his frustration with not being able to contact me. I tried to calm him down by saying, "We were playing phone tag." He continued to focus on his frustration until I finally said "Let's move past this." The more I think about this the disappointed and upset I am with this person. I was diagnosed with cancer and the person giving me this news wanted to focus on his feelings of frustration and of his perceived difficulties in contacting me. Absolutely unacceptable for a person on staff at PIH. It is way beneath the high standard of service I am accustomed receiving at PIH. I do not take this kind of thing lightly. I just thought you should know

She is so busy she is unable to take any new patients

Usually, I can schedule my next skin check upon checkout. They said I cannot do to a computer conversion. It seems like the hospital is putting itself first and not the customer first I could've been scheduled in the current system and someone could then key it into the new system down the road.

Office aways on time , Dr Scherschun friendly, efficient, knowlegable and careful with her exams. A male staff member of hers needs to be much friendlier to patients as his demeaner is efficient, abrupt, to a point of rudness. This is a small point, and there is not a need to market this practice for it to have good patient/production numbers, but a small change would just be a small but, very visible polish to this great office and staff. I'd like this to be confidential, thank you PIH, my hi marks are with lots of honestly.

This provider or any provider at PIH, they need to have more appointments available to the patients. I try to reschedule this appointment and they don't have anything open until November. That is not acceptable. So if I need to see her any sooner, there is no way I can see her until November. So PIH needs to do something about appointments availability. I wish I could have scheduled my appointment earlier. I had to wait about three months before I could see Dr. Scherschun. Dr. Scherschun is very polite and does listen to the patient. However, I think doctors today, in general, spend way too little time with their patients. And it doesn't seem to matter what the specialty is. The medical system in this country needs a serious overhaul.

My wife and I both see Dr Scherschun on a regular basis. She and her assistant (name removed) are ways very prompt, pleasant and professional.

It has taken me one year to see the Dr for a skin check follow up. I had to reschedule my original followup due to a work conflict. Then, the second time was due to illness. This is not good. Especially for someone with a hx of skin CA. The staff needs to do better at listening to the patient needs. The Dr. Is great, no complaints. That is the only reason I tolerated the extreme delay in service.

The doctor and staff are incredible. Scheduling is very difficult though. If you have to cancel an appointment, it will take at least 6 months to get back in.

The doctor is fantastic! Unfortunately, there seems to be difficulty in getting the next appointment in a 6 month window as there seems to be staffing issues. Otherwise, everything was wonderful and she is so good at seeing her patients on time.

This doctor is always on time and very professional. I also like the La Mirada office. There is no charge for parking and there is plenty of parking. The Putnam center charges and it's difficult to find parking.

My medical care was first rate, however the billing and payment issues from your business office were not acceptable. My last visit (Nov of 2025) resulted in my account being turned over to collection!! As soon as I received the collection notice, I paid the bill as I easily have the means to. In addition, insurance is in place for my account as well. I immediately called your business office to notify them and tell them I never received any billing from them. They told me that 3 bills were mailed to my home address, which is accurate in your system. Well, I never received any!! (my mailbox has been locked for years so no mail theft issues) Your portal did not show any balance owing or bills outstanding. Sincerely, (PHI removed)

Love and trust Dr S.... But am concerned with difficulty making appointments for emergencies in the future. Any change of appointment is met with extremely long delays in setting another date and time due to her heavy schedule. I have been lucky that I have not had to see her for any emergencies or out of schedule routine appointments. But, I have also witnessed people at the counter, trying to make appointments that are 6 to 8 months out when they are in need of seeing a doctor as soon as possible Just an observation, but a very real concern for this senior citizen. As usual Dr. Scherschun was very upbeat while still remaining professional. My office visit is always at 7:30 am and she is always so pleasant and cheerful. At this early hour it is impressive. Her staff refelects this attitude. I am always seen right at my appointment time- never have to wait. (Name removed) always gives me my requested appointment time, which is important to me. I couldn't be happier with the treatment and care Dr. Schercshun and staff provide for me.

Friendly and knowledgeable doctor

She's terrific at getting rid of the AK spots on my face and searching my body for them. I very much appreciate that. She did a fabulous job of cutting off a new growth and I'm waiting to hear what the biopsy says about it. However, I had some sort of yeast infection which didn't get discussed with me and the medication that was selected isn't available and the pharmacy at PIH didn't explain to me clearly what I was supposed to do about the medication not being available. So I'm stuck with no treatment for some sort of yeast condition on my skin. The AKs were dealt with wonderfully and the mysterious growth on my shoulder was dealt with perfectly. I didn't feel any pain. I didn't even know she was cutting it off. My problem is I don't know what's up with the yeast infection and I don't have any medicine for it.

Hello, I really enjoy my visits with Dr. S. I can't really pronounce her full last name. She is awesome and her staff. Dr. Scherschum is an awesome dermatologist. She's like a friend and my doctor at the same time. We discuss everything that I need and she takes care of me in the very best possible way. I look forward for all my future visits with her, her staff, (name removed), that helps me tremendously with my scheduling. If I need something that needs urgency, (Name removed) somehow works it where he fits me in and I really appreciate the awesome service that I am receiving from my dermatology department. And again, all the staff, including the girls up in the front, including the girls in the back.

First, the nurse who works with this doctor is so unfriendly. It's very uncomfortable to be around him. I feel like more and more, this doctor rushes you through the visit and doesn't listen very carefully to you when you speak or have concerns. It's disappointing because years ago, she wasn't like that. Also, it's ridiculous and insane that the only 2 female dermatologists in the group don't work past 2:00 each day. All you have is a PA after 2:00 and that's not acceptable. Some people work and are not able to take time off for a (literally) 5 minute appointment. Those same people may not be comfortable with a male doctor. This should be revisited. Maybe more doctors should be added to the office because it shouldn't take 6 months to get an appointment with someone.

She's friendly, she's knowledgeable, she engages if necessary with even small talk. I trust her fully. I see her every 6 to 12 months. I love her and her staff. She is ALWAYS on time and if I'm early, I'm always taken in and seen right then. I'm in and out of her office in under 20 minutes.

I was able to get into my appointment within two days, which is awesome and amazing. Two different people tried calling me to schedule me when they realized there was an opening, so that was awesome. Doctor is amazing per usual. She knew what I needed and what I needed to do. So that was amazing. And thank you guys.

On the last question, I don't know what the range was, but I've the lowest rating about recommending Dr. SCHERSCHUN, and I would rather have it registered that I push the best rating, whatever that was. She's one of the best doctors out of the five that I have.
