I am deeply grateful to Dr. Kevin Peng and the entire staff at PIH Good Samaritan House Ear Clinic on Wilshire for their exceptional care and compassion. About 600 feet from their office, I was attacked with pepper spray by a mentally unstable homeless person. The audiologist's office staff immediately helped me rinse my face, eyes, and ears with cold water and then took me to Dr. Peng's office, where his medical assistant and Dr. Peng cared for me for over an hour. Even though I was the last patient of the day, they never rushed me and treated me with patience, professionalism, and genuine concern. Dr. Peng thoroughly examined me and confirmed I was clear for surgery the next morning. Their kindness, teamwork, and dedication went far beyond my expectations, and I will always be grateful for the compassion they showed me during such a frightening and unexpected situation.

Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Peng always takes his time and makes sure that I understand everything that is happening during my visit. Dr. Peng make me feel that he cares about me as his patient and how I'm feeling with my symptoms. Great Doctor!!!

Dr. Kevin Peng was fantastic to work with and a true professional throughout it. The survey is the most irritating thing that you have to fill out and the fact that you called me multiple times to do a survey is so frustrating.

Seeing the doctor was very pleasant. He took all the time with me. Your front desk staff was horrible. All they wanted to do was gossip and not take care of patients. And I certainly don't appreciate getting this survey call at 7 o'clock or 630 on a Saturday night or Sunday night. I'm out with my friends with dinner, having dinner, then pick another day, pick another time. I'm thoughtful of you. Thank you.

I'm not sure the doctor really looked at what I was going through with fresh eyes. He seemed to read my neurologist's paperwork and just give me information based on that. He really seemed to "phone in" the visit. I was really surprised and disheartened by the entire interaction.

The only process that was slightly frustrating was the insurance derivation in a timely matter to confirm and book the appointment. But the staff was available when i reached out and we were able to work together to verify what was needed.

The only thing that may help for the future appointments is to clearly inform patients that there will be two separate appointments,i.e. one for hearing test first and then meeting with hearing specialist.

So our visit with Dr. Peng was pretty great, except that in the beginning, we were seen by a fellow instead of Dr. Peng, and we were not given an option. He just came in and did most of the exam, and we thought that we were going to see Dr. Peng. But once he arrived, he did a good job of listening to our concerns and examining my son. Thank you.

Hi, this is (PHI removed) and I've seen Dr. Kevin Peng, I think last week, and I'm really very happy to see him because he listens to my problem. Then I see that he thinks about it and then he advises. And I agree with him because it makes sense of what he told me. He's also compassionate because he can feel, he can see how you know, when I told him about the pains and he suggested to have a neck therapy. And that's why I'm, oh, is it done? I'm not done yet. Absolutely enjoyed Dr. Peng and the office staff. The only thing that was difficult was that it took two months to get an initial appointment. Unfortunately, Dr. Peng only practices out of the Orange office one day a week.

We were very unhappy with the care we received from the ladies. They were downright rude and vulgar to us, even making fun of me and my parents. Also, when I called before making the appointment, they told me I would pay a maximum of $300, including the audiometry, and in the end, they charged $386, When we tried to complain, the ladies' attitude was downright unpleasant. I would like to speak to a manager about this matter. Could you please let me know what the next step is?

Hi, it took me one hour to be seen. And waiting an hour, it may have been over an hour, is too long. I would think that I could get in there within, I mean, my other, my general practitioner, I'm in within 10 minutes. And my urologist, I'm in within 15 minutes. This is the first time when I've had to wait an hour and over an hour to be seen. I think it's too long. Thank you.

Everyone was wonderful. The young woman who led me to my room was a little curt, but besides that, the receptionist and definitely the two doctors were wonderful. Dr.Peng was worth the drive and I felt he cared and was very competent. I would definitely go back to him again.

Dr Peng is amazing. I highly recommend him. The problem with being such a great doctor is that it can be a little bit of a wait to get in to see him. But he is worth the wait !!

My only complaint or issue was, I think it's great, was that after my appointment, to make my follow-up appointment, it took like 20 minutes to a half hour to be called up to make my follow-up appointment. So I think you guys should be able to do that more quickly. Okay, bye.

I lost hearing suddenly in my right ear and the scheduler was able to get me a hearing test and seen within an hour of me calling in. Dr. Peng was patient, personable, and knowledgeable. My hearing is already coming back from his prompt treatment. I am incredibly grateful.

Dr. Peng is a consummate professional and one of the best doctors I've met. He listened. He provided candid answers, responding to my many questions, big and small. He intuited that I needed to know specifics, and even technical information, which he provided with clarity and specificity. He made me feel seen and respected, and capable of understanding the nuances. He represents PIH brilliantly, and I feel safe and reassured that he has my well-being and safety in mind, which is why I selected him to be my surgeon.

My child was referred for a hearing test at House Children's but they refused to schedule an appointment until I was seen by a provider in this office. I was just informed that my appointment at House Children's is cancelled because my daughter needs a hearing test first before she is evaluated for hearing aids. Better communication is needed between both offices.

I got lost in the system during your computer network attack... Called a month post first appointment, and was told that I needed to be patient, even though I was told that I would be contacted in about 2 weeks. Waited a another entire month and called again, only to find out that I indeed did get lost in the shuffle, and nothing had been done. Upon finally getting the approval, getting the appointment was relatively quick. The office visit getting the hearing test, and my appointment with the doctor, was all very quick and efficient. Doctor spent adequate time with me explaining options and setting up next steps. Very happy with the level of service provided once I was able to get in.

Hello, yes, I think that I pressed one when I was asked for the very first question, initial question. Usually, the range goes from one excellent da-da-da, and I dealt with Dr. Kevin Peng. My experience with him was just excellent in every way, and I hope I did not make a mistake and press something negative, because I only have positive things and positive experiences to say about Dr. Peng. I appreciated the care very much.

Dr. Peng and his staff were so very helpful throughout the whole process of improving my hearing. I am hoping for amazing results from my surgery. I am grateful for the whole House Ear Institute, as I have been a patient since 1992.

I have no problem with the physicians. However the front desk is very rude and unprofessional. If I want to make an appointment for the next 6 month ordered by my doctor, the front desk rejects to give me an appointment and insists that I should call in 3 months to schedule it. No courtesy and no customer service skills. Another problem is your lack of cash for change at the office which eventually ends up as a credit for the next visit, but somehow the credit doesn't show up in the system upon my next visit. In general the front desk whether its customer service, skills, or billings does not function properly and it's not organized. It's so frustrating to deal with the front desk and the employees. To sum it up, they ignore physicians order and request even for appointments requested by the physician.

Please improve the office staff, the front office staff. The people who work with Dr. Peng are very nice, but the front office staff is rude, too quick to answer questions and to get you away from them. So I'm not happy with that part of it. The back office staff is wonderful, and of course, Dr. Peng is wonderful. Thank you.

My experience with the PIH Clinic, better known to me as the House Ear Clinic, was truly a pleasant one. I was seen right away. The two physicians that I saw were very cordial. They worked with me because I'm very sensitive, you know, with sound or with my ears, and they were very patient with me, and I do want to say I appreciate that. And I would recommend this office to anyone. And I am having a follow-up appointment, and I'm looking forward to that appointment so they can continue to work with me, with my hearing. Yes, this is (PHI removed) and I had an appointment with Dr. Peng last week and I was very happy with my appointment. I was treated wonderfully by the staff and Dr. Peng. I always enjoy seeing him. The visit was eventful. I found out everything I needed to know and I'll be seeing him again next year. I would highly recommend him. My only question is maybe do a little bit better with being able to make appointments a year in advance. That's it. Outside of that, the office and Dr. Peng are definitely a 10, if not more, 11 or 12. Thank you.

We had an appointment with (name removed) at 9:00 and with Dr Peng at 1:00, We were finished with (name removed) early in the morning and the staff advised us we could see Dr Peng right away if we liked. We were delighted to be able to see him as we had to drive a distance for the location and this really was a help for us. We appreciate the staff being alert and allowing us to save the time and cost of coming early.

I was confused and fearful that I would not be able to get my cochlear device taken care of but felt so reassured after my visit that everything would be handled through the clinic. It's so hard when you are a senior citizen but I was treated with utmost care.

Hi there. I feel like Dr. Peng and Dr. (name removed) are really good. I feel like what needs to be improved is an explanation of the process of the surgery. And I mean, I can only imagine for like senior citizens, because I'm 50 and I got my cochlear implant surgery there. And it was hard to keep up with all the different procedures and the appointments and downloading things on my phone app. I just feel like my heart goes out to the older people that have to do this because it was challenging to keep up with. So maybe, you know, a way to keep it a little bit more organized for all the different testing that you have to do before the surgery, because there was a lot of testing I had to do before the surgery. And then a lot of follow up appointments.
