Becoming a doctor was always what Dr. Braverman wanted to do. When asked why Dr. Braverman chose Bariatric Surgery as a career he stated, “It provides me with the opportunity to not only help patients lose a significant amount of weight, but to also potentially cure their weight related diseases. Really though, it gives patients a second chance at a healthier life.  Surgical weight loss increases energy, improves appearance and most importantly, dramatically improves the patient’s quality of life. I truly love what I do.” Dr. Braverman enjoys the continuity of care that comes with Bariatric Surgery as he gets to know his patients through their weight loss journey. Having performed over 3,000 bariatric operations with extremely low complication rates and no deaths, he is one of the most experienced and safest weight loss surgeons in California. Dr. Braverman’s hobbies include physical fitness, oil painting, gardening, and playing softball. Most of all, he loves spending time with his wife and young children and enjoys taking advantage of living in sunny, Southern California.

Dr. Braverman always provides excellent care. He listens attentively and explains the procedure very well. He also doesn't rush to push procedures or anything like that. He does give alternative options and as a patient of his for the last six years, I feel really lucky to have him as he listens to my concerns and I feel he looks out for my overall health. I really am very lucky to have him.

Dr. Braverman spent almost an hour with me and my family. He was very attentive and cared about what I wanted with my treatment. He didnt make us feel rushed and answered all of our questions. Extremely excellent bedside manor.

This office should be the gold standard for more than just bariatrics. They should be the standard for all care at PIH. The level of care and information that each person gives you has been the best in all my treatments with PIH. They were on time, carefully explained everything and set me up with aftercare instructions in detail for me to understand and treat myself quickly. I've never had better service at a PIH Health Care facility before. Great job to all the staff from check in to check out.

Each and every staff member was so kind, patient and knowledgeable. I've never so safe in a hospital before. Dr. Braverman is amazing very informative very kind. Pre op nurse (two names removed) so nice to me. Post op nurse & aid (two names removed) made me so comfortable. My post op nurse (name removed) & aide (name removed) were amazing!! Very attentive to me. Never made me feel as if I was bothering them. Helped me stay comfortable (two name removed) are a true asset to PIH.. my other post op nurse (name removed) & aid (name removed) are just as sweet super kind and supportive. All of the staff that helped me these past 2 days have been amazing I am in complete awe and I could not be happier with my stay. Everyone has gone above and beyond for me and they have all set the bar high for others to follow. Amazing team! ?

Dr. Braverman is so kind and professional. He always has notes on what he read current on my chart. He knows exactly what is going on in my life medically and then after our visit know personally what is happening. I look forward to seeing him once a year for my check up

Dr. Braverman was very professional. He was very excited about what he did and he does and he generally cares about the people that he wants to that need to have this bariatric surgery. He answered all questions and he was very professional, very serious, but he genuinely cares. I haven't seen a person like that be a doctor in probably over 20 years. Very professional. I highly recommend this guy. Dr. Braverman is and how he did his presentation and everything. I'm going through with the surgery and Dr. Braverman is going to be my surgeon. Any further questions, comments, but you got a winner with Dr. Braverman. Thank you.

This is my second time visiting with my bariatrics surgeon Dr braverman and I had a great experience like the first time he was nice respectful hospital him and The dietitian took time to listen to me and when I called them back at home the next day they took time to listen and answer my questions the nursing staff is nice you know I recommend it to friends anyone who wants to see a bariatric surgeon that has PIH I recommend them see doctor Justin braverman because he's a great surgeon and he listens to you and his staff is courteous they're top-notch even a dietitian I like I like them they're cool all of them even Dr braverman top notch doctor and surgeon 10 out of 10 and he's funny too not serious he's not a stick in the pants like some doctors and he's very knowledgeable I'm very friendly and he respect his patience that's all I can say about Dr braverman he's cool and high class all the way!

Dr Braverman was able to consult with me in a thorough and complete and professional manner. I really needed the thorough and complete discussion about my issues which to me are complex. He was able to able to guide me through the issues with thorough knowledge of my history and present workable options to treat my problems. I left his office feeling like I had a discussion with someone who was looking at my whole picture and presenting a course of action to solve the problem I was there to see him about.

Dr. Braverman is honestly the best doctor ever. I love going to my appointments and knowing he's there. He makes me feel welcome and makes me feel like I've known him for so long. I trust him. He is the most caring and detaled dr. out of some i have experienced. He is the main reason I switched my to PIH even though I am having issues with other doctors at PIH.My PCP is okay but now I am stuck in between the issues/fights between Downy and whittier office and incompetent staff at both GI offices. But Dr Braverman is the only one I will never leave, I will switch whereever he will go.
