Dr. Brackmann was raised in a small town in Central Illinois. After a year of internship and residency in Chicago, he served in the United States Air Force as a flight surgeon. 

After completing military duty, Dr. Brackmann completed his residency in otolaryngology—head and neck surgery at the University of Southern California at Los Angeles. He then completed a fellowship in neurotology at the House Clinic and joined that practice where he spent his entire career in the practice of otology and neurotology.

 In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Brackmann has been active in clinical research. His current interests are in management of Neurofibromatosis Type II and the auditory brainstem implant. He is the author or co-author of more than 300 publications and is the editor of 5 textbooks.

Dr. Brackmann needs to retire because he doesn't have a patient to really check the patient that what is wrong with them.

Doctor diagnose the problem. No one else could. Went to schedule a follow up appointment was told to sit down I waited 20 minutes. The schedule person got up and left so I left.

I've been seeing Dr. Brackmann for several years now. He did two of my surgeries and he's an amazing doctor. He really shows that he cares about his patients. He takes his time, explains everything. I've recommended him to many of family members and friends and I'll continue to do so. Yeah, he's great.

Hi. As I arrived to the office, there should be a better way of communicating with the patient. Because if I had not been pushy and went up to the front desk, I would have been sitting there forever and not gone to my hearing test first, which I was scheduled first. Your text messages do not indicate your hearing test is at 10. and your doctor's visit is at 1030, just sends you a message about your time. So my experience was have a seat, we'll be right with you. So I sat down and waited and waited and no one called me back up. So I went up there again and I pushed for it. Suddenly I find out I'm in the wrong office, I should be going to my hearing test. I just found it that they were short and more focused on phones rather than

I was expected to redo information that you have on file already. I was only there to have ear wax removed. The staff did not seem to know that or care what I was there for. Just fill out all this stuff whether necessary or not. I do not like being treated like "income. " PIH bristles with business. It is not conducive to healing. I do not calling doctors "providers."

I was early to audiology appointment but wasn't seen for an hour making me late for appointment with Dr Brackmann. Still well worth the visit. Very grateful for surgery Dr Slattery performed in December of 2023 and care Dr Brackmann has provided from 2022 through now. It had restored my quality of life!

This was the first visit with Dr. Brackman and the procedure that he did was very, very painful, but it was very successful also. So I'm really pleased with my visit and pleased with him and pleased with the Health Heart Hearing Center.

My experience was absolutely terrible with Dr Brackmann. I am sure he is a sweet man and very knowledgeable in his field of practice, which left me confused to what he actually is. He didn't listen to all symptoms I have in throat and nose, said I am only an ear doctor can't help with anything else beyond an ear issue and I was highly misdiagnosed. Isn't he ENT? Dr of Ear, Nose and throat? I drove an hour to see him and got absolutely nowhere. Extremely frustrated.

Check in was slow. Staff seems to have overlooked me. 15 minutes after my appointment staff realized that I needed to update my insurance and paperwork. This could have been eaisly been completed online prior to arrival.

The office had me fill out a bunch of information online, including all of my insurance info and stuff like that. And then when I came into the appointment, I had to fill out all of the exact same information, but on paper. And so it felt like a giant waste of time, and it made my appointment run late.

Hi, my name is (PHI removed). I would just like to say that ever since PIH Health has taken over, all of my billing with my insurance has gone terribly wrong. I'm constantly given bills that I know should be covered, so your process is not being handled properly by PIH. I have confirmed with my benefits, Nissan Life Benefits, you are not presenting things properly. The male gentleman at the checkout counter at the house clinic is very off-putting. I do not like the way he addresses me at all. Other than that, fantastic, Dr. Brackmann, the best.
